Do you want to join the Green Jumper Squad ?
We are recruiting a new posse of like-minded individuals to join our Green Jumper Squad, and we are going all out to do our bit to mitigate climate change.
We are inviting all school children in the UK to join us. We want our Squad to be the force behind Green Jumper Day, and we would like to have Squad members and leaders in each and every school in the UK.
Green Jumper Day is the day when we get all involved to turn down the heating, save energy, save money, keep warm in a jumper, and donate. Our aims are to raise awareness about climate change and take action to mitigate it.
Green Jumper is a charity, we raise money for reforestation projects and to provide free books and educational material for schools, so the next generation can grow up knowing all there is to know about their planet, and how to look after it.
We are inviting schools who have an Eco Club, or schools who want to start one, to get involved with Green Jumper, to host Green Jumper Day in October 2022, and to involve their community as well.
Once you’ve joined, we’ll send to a welcome pack with a poster to print out for your wall, and badges for the Squad leaders.
We would hope that each Squad would:
- Help to coordinate and tell everyone Green Jumper Day
- Come up with new ideas and share our ideas to promote being “green” on Green Jumper Day and on the lead up to it (we already have some great ideas we can share)
- Write to or get in touch with local businesses to help get them to join in on Green Jumper Day
- Keep in touch with those businesses, to tell them what you’ve been up to and promote a community where everyone is doing their bit
- Send us pictures of your Squad and Squad members (in a green jumper or something green) and let us what you’ve been up to, so we can share
On Green Jumper Day we will have some great games to play, with prizes for the winners and we will also have books we would like to send to schools for free, that are all about living sustainably.
