Green Jumper Day

Friday 14th October 2022

INTRODUCTION

Green Jumper is all about raising awareness around climate change, it’s about educating the next generation, it’s about planting trees… it’s about raising money to do these things.
On Friday 14th October 2022, Green Jumper Day, put on a jumper, a green one, go to work, to school, to the shops, but expect it to be a little cooler than usual as all involved turn down the heating for the day, to save energy.

On Green Jumper Day, we are asking everyone, school children, politicians and footballers, shopkeepers and shoppers, big business owners and those staying at home, to turn down the thermostat, keep warm in a green jumper, and make a donation to help Green Jumper achieve its goals.

REFLECTIONS ON 2021

2021 was all about raising awareness about climate change, and what a success. Businesses across the globe, and school children around Great Britain all took part in the first ever Green Jumper Day.

We saw green hoodies, green socks, green coats and lots and lots of green jumpers, as adults and children headed off to school and work knowing the heating would be turned down a little on the 22nd November. We received fantastic images from some of those taking part, and Green Jumper was featured in the press and on the radio across the length and breadth of Britain.

GREEN JUMPER ZERO CARBON CLUB

In 2021, as a part of Green Jumper Day we spoke to lots of businesses large and small, and whilst many had carbon reduction strategies in place, many didn’t, so we set up the Green Jumper Zero Carbon Club to help those that need it.

The Green Jumper Zero Carbon Club offers members an annual “carbon foot-printing” service, measuring and benchmarking their footprint. We provide help setting individual targets and support to help business reach net carbon zero, to a timetable set by each organisation.
